I am an active member of the Massage Therapists Association of Nova Scotia (MTANS).
In order to maintain good standing with the Association and my licence, we are required to complete continuing education units (as with most professional vocations). These can be completed by attending workshops to learn new techniques, develop a style and/or new skills, read articles about new knowledge in the field, conferences etc. and include keeping our First Aid and CPR updated.
Although I am only four and a half years into my career, I have completed several courses, and enjoy most of my time reading about current research and also traditional modalities used in different cultures. The following is what I have done so far. I do want to take workshops in myofascial release and craniosacral therapy in the near future. The dancer in me is very interested in Thai massage and Ashiatsu!
If you have any questions about any of the modalities or my approach, please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org!
